Coach Barry Johnson 

Coach Johnson is in his 8th season as a Varsity Head Basketball Coach. 2009-2010 being his inaugural season as head coach at LW. Prior to LW coach Johnson was the head coach at Lindbergh High School in Renton, WA. Coach Johnson led the Lindbergh Eagles to 5 district tournaments in his 7 seasons. In 2004 his Lindbergh team lead the 3A in points per game. Coach Johnson looks to install an up-tempo game and continue to focus on the defensive end for his new LW team.

Coach grew up in the Rose Hill area attending Rose Hill Elementary, Rose Hill Jr. High and then on to Redmond high school. As a graduate of Redmond High School and being a part of the great Redmond basketball program, Coach learned a lot about being tough, a team player and what it takes to be the best. He is going to pass all of his knowledge down to everyone in the Kang program. He credits his mental toughness and defensive approach to his former High School coach Jerry Koester. Redmond won back to back state championships in 1988 and 1989. Coach was a part of the 1989 team and in 1991 his senior year, his team was the runner up in the state championship game.

Coach Johnson played college ball at Central Washington University and majored in Communications.

Coach Johnson is married and has two boys. Amy Johnson (wife), Avery Johnson (12) and Taye Johnson (5) and all are very excited about their new home.
